In the fall of 1995, a group of engineers involved in testing and analysis of deep foundations met in Vancouver, British Columbia, to discuss matters of interest in their professional practices.  APTLY,  the Alliance of Deep Foundation Testing Professionals, was conceived at this meeting.  The objectives established are as follows:

APTLY has been an internet-driven group from the beginning.   This website was established in 1996 to better disseminate information of interest to our members and others in the deep foundations industry.  APTLY members are now conducting their business on the web platform established at Geoforum.com.

APTLY members are serving on professional committees in other key organizations to foster better understanding of the testing methods available, and to focus on improved practice in the field testing and implementation areas.  With a strong international base for our membership, we complement the organization of the DFI to a significant degree, such that collaboration with DFI in technology transfer activities is a natural fit.

The thrust of the organization has been carried by as many as a dozen individuals at any given time. We are establishing our board of directors to chart the course of the organization in the coming years. These individuals have been selected based on their continued support of APTLY activities, their regions of practice in the world, and inclusion of the breadth of professional activities our members pursue.  Please see our membership page for information about how to join APTLY.
