FOREWORD

Construction projects will continue to boom in the future decade in China resulting in a extreme demand for techniques, equipment and business in the field of geotech and geodrilling. The annual conference & exhibition, (started in 1993), besides sharing and exchanging experience and technology, is to create a best trade opportunity for overseas manufacturers who will obtain the overall information about China's broad market demands.

The 4th international Geotech conference & Exhibition sponsored by NGIC will involve in variety of geotech and geodrilling fields such as piling, diaphragm wall, anchoring, soil nailing, grouting and other soft soil treatment. The last event--3th Conference & Exhibition was held successfully in Beijing 1996, and attracted about 60 companies and 250 delegates from China, United States, Germany , Italy, Switzerland and Hong Kong, and thousands of visitors are from all of China.

CONFERENCE INTRODUCTION

The conference will comprise two parts: specialist paper statements and company seminars.

A. The paper statement will provide a forum for specialists from China and foreign countries to exchange their new ideas and experiences.

* Paper will involve case histories, new techniques and equipment covering all aspects of geotech field such as deep foundation pile, diaphragm wall , anchoring, and soft foundation soil treatment, etc.;

* All papers must be written in English or Chinese ;

* Each paper author will make a report with a time limit of 20 minutes;

* Extended abstract in English on two to four A4 pages should be submitted no later than June 30, 1997 to the conference organization committee.

B. The seminar will provide overseas companies a chance to promote their products and techniques.

* The seminar program will be divided into several sectors , each has 2 hours;

* Each company making the seminar can occupy 1 to 2 sectors (half a day);

* The video set, overhead projector and other facilities will be provided by sponsor;

* Language interpretive service (English, German, Japanese) will be provided;

* The companies making the seminar should submit relevant material (no less 250 copies) to organization committee in advance.
